Factur-X validator: check an e-invoice in one second
Drop the PDF. The embedded XML is read and every mandatory field of France's 2026 e-invoicing reform is checked: buyer SIREN, VAT, payment terms, delivery address. The file never leaves your computer.
- No upload: the check runs inside this page
- 12 mandatory fields, including the 4 new ones for 2026
- Factur-X, ZUGFeRD and XRechnung (PDF/A-3)

This tool runs in your browser: enable JavaScript to check the invoice. Even then, no file is ever uploaded.

2026 mandatory information
This invoice is missing mandatory 2026 information. Fix it at the source: Generate complete invoices from WooCommerce
Selling on WooCommerce? Factur-X for WooCommerce turns every order into an invoice that passes this check. See the plugin
Embedded XML
25 MB maximum per file. The tool checks the mandatory fields and the XML structure, not a full EN 16931 Schematron validation. This is not legal or accounting advice.
Check a Factur-X invoice in three steps
- Drop the PDF invoice into the box above: one you received from a supplier or one your own software produced.
- The embedded XML (UN/CEFACT CII) is extracted and every mandatory field is sorted: present, missing or to check.
- Fix what is missing before sending, or ask the supplier for a corrected invoice. The XML stays downloadable for your accounting.
No account, no queue, no quota: check as many invoices as you need.
The 12 mandatory fields checked
The validator covers the mandatory information of a French business-to-business invoice, plus the four fields added by the e-invoicing reform:
- Seller and buyer identity.
- Issue date and unique invoice number.
- Description of the goods or services (invoice lines).
- Total amount and VAT (rate and amount).
- Payment terms and late payment penalties.
- New in 2026: the buyer's SIREN number.
- New in 2026: the delivery address, when it differs from the billing address.
- New in 2026: the type of transaction (goods, services or mixed).
- New in 2026: the option to pay VAT on debits, when it has been elected.
"To check" does not mean "wrong": some fields are often written as free text. The tool looks for them in the notes and payment terms of the XML; when it cannot find them, it asks you to look at the invoice instead of claiming they are missing.
Your invoice reaches no server
An invoice carries an IBAN, amounts, contact details and sometimes commercial terms. Most online validators upload that file to their own server.
Here the PDF is read by your browser, on your own machine. The page is not even allowed to open a connection: its security policy forbids every network call (connect-src 'none'). Check it in your browser's Network tab: not a single request is made during the check.
Zero network calls
The check works offline. Turn off your wifi once the page has loaded: the tool still works.
Zero storage
Nothing is stored, neither on a server nor in your browser. Close the tab and everything is gone.
Zero accounts
No email to hand over, no password, no advertising tracker.
What this validator does not do
It does not replace a full EN 16931 Schematron validation, does not check the PDF/A-3 conformance of the file and sends nothing to an approved platform. It answers one simple, frequent question: is every mandatory field present in the invoice data?
For an exhaustive technical validation, also use the validator of your approved platform (PA): it is the one that will accept or reject the invoice.
Invoicing from WooCommerce?
In France, every business must be able to receive e-invoices since 1 September 2026. Small and micro businesses will also have to issue them from 1 September 2027, with these new fields.
Factur-X for WooCommerce turns every order into a Factur-X invoice and checks these same fields before it goes out, on your own server: no intermediary platform, no per-invoice fee. The core plugin is free.
Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded to your servers?
No. The check is done by your browser, on your computer. The page is served with a security policy that forbids any outgoing connection, so it technically cannot transmit your file. Open your browser's Network tab to see it for yourself.
What does "to check" mean?
Late payment penalties, type of transaction, VAT on debits and delivery address are often written as free text, or do not apply to every invoice. When the tool does not detect them in the XML, it does not conclude they are missing: it asks you to check the invoice.
My invoice is incomplete: what now?
If it comes from a supplier, ask for a corrected invoice and list the missing fields shown here. If it is yours, complete the data in your invoicing software (buyer SIREN, payment terms…) and generate it again.
Is this an EN 16931 Schematron validation?
No. The tool checks the mandatory fields and the structure of the embedded XML. A full Schematron validation also runs hundreds of format and calculation rules; your approved platform runs it on receipt.
Which formats are supported?
Every PDF with an embedded UN/CEFACT CII XML: Factur-X (France), ZUGFeRD 2.x (Germany) and XRechnung delivered as PDF/A-3. Profiles MINIMUM, BASIC WL, BASIC, EN 16931 and EXTENDED are read. A MINIMUM invoice has no line items, so the description field will show as missing.
Is it really free?
Yes: no sign-up, no limit, no ads. We publish it because it makes our e-invoicing tools known: the Novair Factur-X extension (batch checks and CSV export in the Pro version) and the Factur-X for WooCommerce plugin.
Compliant invoices straight from your WooCommerce orders
Factur-X for WooCommerce generates the Factur-X XML from every order and checks these fields before sending. On your server, no platform, no per-invoice fee.
